Director R Sukumaran (of 'Paadamudra' fame) had been for long, finalizing everything for his new film 'YugaPurushan' based on the lives of legendary social activist, Sree Narayana Guru. He was planning to have Mammootty in the title role and even the actor had given an initial nod to the project.

But the new development is that Mammootty has finally cleared to the director that he may not be an apt person to portray the greatest of the social reformers of Kerala. As many still have the real pictures of Guru, Mammootty fears that if he play the character then his start quotient may over power the actual realization of the character and people will see the character only as Mammootty playing 'Guru'. Instead the super star has offered the director his full-fledged support by playing a contemporary of Guru in the movie.

Now R Sukumaran who did all the script works with Mammootty in his mind, is left looking for another fresh face to present the immortal saint. Mohanlal will also appear in the movie as Swami Vivekananda. The movie makers are also planning to bring some other great artists from other languages to play the many important characters of the times. Produced by A V Anoop, the movie will start its shoot by October in and around Mangalapuram.
